Leslyn Keith is a nationally known lymphedema therapist and occupational therapist.  After years of working with her patients, she noted that about 65% of them were obese, and obesity makes treating and living with lymphedema more difficult.  She therefore began to research diets that might help her patients.  She recently received her OTD, so we respectfully call her Dr. Keith.

Bill Robinson, research assistant, was dissatisfied with his hunger, energy level and risk of developing type II diabetes.

Rose Marie Battaglia, cancer survivor, believed that reducing inflammation was the key to staying cancer-free, and sugar was the main culprit in inflammation.

Together they embarked on a journey of finding a solution. The low carb, high fat way of eating has yielded results beyond their expectations. They have been following this diet for years now, and Leslyn is working on a study with her patients using nutrition as part of her doctoral work.

Leslyn and Bill have found the research and science behind this diet so persuasive that they wanted to offer this information to the central coast community.  Leslyn recruited Shoosh Lettick Crotzer’s company, Lymphedema Seminars, to help put on this groundbreaking conference. Thus the First Annual Central Coast Nutrition Conference was born.
